Everything about PayTime payroll & salary software for Pakistan — pricing, FBR tax, payslips, EOBI, security and more.

Getting Started 10
What is PayTime?
PayTime is a cloud-based payroll and salary software built for businesses in Pakistan. It automates salary calculation, FBR income-tax deductions, payslips, EOBI and statutory reports so you can run accurate payroll in minutes instead of hours.
Who is PayTime for?
PayTime suits any Pakistani employer — startups, SMEs, schools, clinics, manufacturers, agencies and accounting firms — that wants to run payroll accurately without maintaining complex spreadsheets or in-house HR systems.
Do I need to install any software?
No. PayTime runs entirely in the cloud, so you only need a web browser. There is nothing to install, update or back up on your own computers, and you can log in from any device.
How do I create a PayTime account?
You can register from the PayTime website using your business email. Once your employer account is created you can add your company details, set up employees and run your first payroll straight away.
How long does it take to set up payroll?
Most businesses are up and running the same day. You add your company, import or enter employees and their salary details, and PayTime handles the tax and deduction calculations for you.
Can I try PayTime before committing?
Yes. You can create an account and explore the platform, and our team is happy to walk you through a demo tailored to how your business runs payroll. There are no long-term contracts.
Do I need accounting or tax knowledge to use PayTime?
No. PayTime is designed so non-specialists can run compliant payroll. The tax slabs, EOBI and deductions are applied automatically, and payslips and reports are generated for you.
Can an accountant manage payroll for multiple clients?
Yes. Accountants and payroll bureaus use PayTime to manage several client companies from one place, saving time while keeping each client's data separate and compliant.
Is PayTime suitable for a small team of a few employees?
Absolutely. Because pricing is credit-based, very small teams pay only for the employees they actually run each month, making PayTime cost-effective even for a handful of staff.
What do I need before running my first payroll?
You need your company details, your employees' names and salary structures, and any allowances or deductions that apply. With that in place, PayTime calculates net pay, tax and contributions automatically.
Pricing & Credits 10
How much does PayTime cost?
PayTime uses simple, credit-based pricing. You buy payroll credits in bulk and the more you buy, the lower the price per credit. There are no setup fees and no fixed monthly subscription.
What is a payroll credit?
One credit covers processing one employee's payroll for one month — including salary calculation, tax, deductions and payslip. If you run 40 employees in a month, you use 40 credits.
Do PayTime credits expire?
No. Credits never expire. They stay in your account until you use them, so you can carry them across months or even years and only spend what you run.
Are there any setup or subscription fees?
No. PayTime has no setup fees and no compulsory monthly subscription. You simply top up credits and use them as you process payroll.
Can I get a better rate for a larger team?
Yes. Pricing is tiered, so the more credits you buy, the lower the price per credit. Larger businesses and bureaus benefit from the best per-credit rates.
How do I pay for credits?
You can top up credits securely from your dashboard. Our team can also help you choose the right bundle for your monthly headcount.
What happens if I do not run an employee in a given month?
You are only charged for employees you actually process. If someone is not run in a month — for example they are on unpaid leave — no credit is used for them that month.
Can I estimate my monthly cost before buying?
Yes. The pricing page includes a credit estimator: enter your number of employees and it shows the recommended bundle and your expected monthly cost.
Is there a minimum number of credits I must buy?
PayTime is flexible for businesses of all sizes. You can start with a small bundle that matches your team and top up more whenever you need them.
Will my price per credit change after I buy?
No. The rate you pay is locked in for the credits you purchase. Because credits do not expire, those credits keep their value until you use them.
Payroll Processing 12
How does PayTime calculate salaries?
PayTime calculates gross-to-net pay using each employee's salary structure, allowances, benefits and deductions, then applies FBR income tax and statutory contributions to produce accurate net pay.
Can PayTime handle allowances and benefits?
Yes. You can define allowances such as house rent, conveyance, medical and special allowances, and PayTime includes them correctly in gross pay and tax treatment.
Does PayTime support bonuses and incentives?
Yes. One-off payments like bonuses, commissions and incentives can be added to a payroll run, and PayTime handles their tax impact automatically.
Can I process payroll for multiple companies?
Yes. PayTime supports multiple companies and branches under one login, so group businesses and accountants can run each entity's payroll separately.
How does PayTime handle overtime?
You can record overtime hours or amounts for eligible employees, and PayTime adds them to the run so the salary, tax and payslip all reflect the extra pay.
Can I run payroll for hourly or daily-wage staff?
Yes. Alongside monthly-salaried staff you can process hourly, daily-wage, contract and intern payments, giving you one platform for your whole workforce.
How do I handle mid-month joiners and leavers?
PayTime supports pro-rated salaries, so employees who join or leave part-way through the month are paid correctly for the days they worked.
Can I review a payroll run before finalising it?
Yes. You can preview the full run — gross pay, deductions, tax and net pay for every employee — and make corrections before you finalise and generate payslips.
Does PayTime reduce payroll errors?
Yes. By automating tax, EOBI and deduction calculations, PayTime removes the manual formula mistakes that are common in spreadsheets and helps ensure every employee is paid the right amount.
How often can I run payroll?
You can run payroll on the schedule that fits your business — typically monthly — and process off-cycle runs for bonuses, arrears or corrections when needed.
Can I handle salary arrears and back pay?
Yes. Arrears and back pay can be added to a run, and PayTime calculates the correct tax treatment so the payslip and reports stay accurate.
Does PayTime support multi-branch or multi-location businesses?
Yes. You can organise employees by branch or location and run payroll centrally, which is ideal for businesses operating across several cities in Pakistan.
FBR Income Tax 12
Does PayTime calculate FBR income tax automatically?
Yes. PayTime applies the current FBR salary income-tax slabs for the selected tax year to every employee, so monthly withholding is calculated automatically and consistently.
Does PayTime keep up with new tax-year slabs?
Yes. PayTime maintains the salary tax slabs by fiscal year, so when FBR updates rates for a new tax year, your payroll uses the correct slabs for that period.
Can I calculate an employee's salary tax before running payroll?
Yes. PayTime includes a salary tax calculator where you can select the tax year and see the estimated monthly tax for a given salary before you process the run.
Does PayTime handle the salary income-tax surcharge?
Yes. Where a surcharge applies to higher incomes under FBR rules, PayTime factors it into the tax calculation so withholding remains compliant.
How does PayTime help with monthly tax withholding?
PayTime withholds the correct income tax from each salary based on the applicable slabs, so the amount you deduct and deposit is calculated for you every month.
Can PayTime help at tax-filing time?
Yes. PayTime keeps accurate records of salaries and tax deducted throughout the year, which makes preparing withholding statements and annual figures far quicker.
Does PayTime support tax exemptions and adjustments?
Yes. You can apply eligible exemptions and adjustments to an employee, and PayTime reflects them in the tax calculation so staff are neither over- nor under-deducted.
What are FBR Forms 210 and 211?
These relate to employer withholding of salary tax. PayTime keeps the underlying salary and deduction data organised so preparing the required statements for FBR is straightforward.
What is Section 149 and how does PayTime help?
Section 149 of the Income Tax Ordinance covers tax deduction on salary by employers. PayTime automates that deduction each month based on the applicable slabs so you stay compliant.
Can PayTime produce salary tax certificates for employees?
Yes. Because PayTime records each employee's tax deducted through the year, you can provide the figures employees need for their own tax filing.
Does PayTime help avoid tax penalties?
Yes. Accurate, on-time deduction and clean records reduce the risk of shortfalls and penalties. PayTime's automation is designed to keep your withholding correct every month.
Is the tax calculation the same for every tax year?
No — slabs change between fiscal years. PayTime stores slabs per tax year, so a run for one year uses that year's rates and historical runs stay accurate.
Payslips & Reports 10
Can PayTime generate payslips automatically?
Yes. PayTime produces a clear, itemised payslip for every employee each pay period, showing gross pay, allowances, tax, deductions and net pay.
Can employees receive digital payslips?
Yes. Digital payslips can be shared with employees, improving transparency and removing the need to print and hand out paper slips every month.
What makes a payslip valid in Pakistan?
A proper payslip should clearly show earnings, allowances, statutory deductions such as tax and EOBI, and net pay. PayTime payslips include these details so they stand up to scrutiny.
What payroll reports does PayTime provide?
PayTime provides salary registers, tax and deduction summaries, EOBI reports and other management reports that give you a complete view of each payroll run.
Can I download reports for my accountant?
Yes. Reports can be exported so you can share them with your accountant or auditor, or keep them for your own records.
How quickly can I prepare payroll reports?
Because the data is captured as you run payroll, accurate reports are available in minutes rather than being rebuilt by hand each month.
Can I customise what appears on a payslip?
PayTime payslips are structured to show the earnings and deductions relevant to Pakistani payroll, giving employees a clear and professional breakdown of their pay.
Can I reprint or re-access past payslips?
Yes. Historical payslips and runs are stored in your account, so you can revisit or re-share previous months whenever you need them.
Do reports help during audits?
Yes. Organised salary, tax and deduction reports make audits far smoother, because the figures and supporting detail are already in one place.
Can PayTime show year-to-date figures?
Yes. PayTime keeps cumulative records so you and your employees can see year-to-date earnings and tax, which is useful for planning and filing.
EOBI & Deductions 10
Does PayTime handle EOBI contributions?
Yes. PayTime calculates EOBI contributions as part of the payroll run, so employer and employee contributions are applied and recorded correctly.
What is EOBI?
EOBI is the Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution, which provides pension and old-age benefits. Registered employers contribute for eligible employees, and PayTime automates that calculation.
Can PayTime manage other statutory deductions?
Yes. Alongside income tax and EOBI, PayTime can apply other recurring deductions so each employee's net pay reflects everything that should be withheld.
Can I set up loan or advance deductions?
Yes. You can schedule recurring deductions such as salary advances or loan instalments, and PayTime subtracts them automatically each month until they are cleared.
Does PayTime keep records of deductions for compliance?
Yes. Every deduction is recorded against the employee and the run, giving you a clear audit trail for tax, EOBI and internal review.
Can I apply one-off deductions?
Yes. In addition to recurring deductions, you can apply one-time deductions to a single run when needed, and the payslip reflects them clearly.
How does PayTime show deductions to employees?
Each deduction appears as a separate line on the payslip, so employees can see exactly what has been withheld and why.
Does PayTime help with minimum-wage compliance?
PayTime helps you keep salaries organised so you can ensure staff are paid at or above the applicable minimum wage for their category and location.
Can PayTime handle provident fund or gratuity records?
PayTime helps you track the salary data needed for benefits such as provident fund and gratuity, keeping the figures organised for accurate calculation.
Are employer and employee contributions shown separately?
Yes. Where a contribution has both employer and employee portions, PayTime records each part so your reports and payslips are transparent.
Employees & Records 10
How do I add employees to PayTime?
You can add employees individually or in bulk, entering their salary structure, allowances and deductions once so they are ready for every future payroll run.
Can I import my existing employee list?
Yes. PayTime is built to help you move from spreadsheets, so you can bring your current employee and salary data into the system to get started quickly.
Can I manage interns and contractors?
Yes. Interns, contractors and part-time staff can be managed alongside permanent employees, so your whole workforce is handled in one place.
How does PayTime handle remote or hybrid teams?
Because PayTime is cloud-based, location does not matter. You can run payroll for office, remote and hybrid staff across cities from a single account.
Can I store employee documents and details?
PayTime keeps structured employee records including salary and deduction details, giving you an organised, always-available source of payroll information.
Can I update an employee's salary during the year?
Yes. When an employee's salary or allowances change, you update their record and future runs use the new figures automatically.
How does PayTime keep payroll records for FBR audits?
PayTime retains salary, tax and deduction history by employee and by run, so if FBR requests records you can produce accurate, well-organised data.
How long are records kept?
Your payroll history is retained in your account so you can access past runs, payslips and reports for compliance and reference.
Can I organise employees by department or branch?
Yes. Grouping employees by department, branch or cost centre makes larger payrolls easier to manage and report on.
Why is accurate employee data important for payroll?
Accurate data — correct salaries, allowances and tax status — is what makes payroll right. PayTime centralises this data so every run is based on the same reliable source.
Security & Access 8
Is my payroll data secure with PayTime?
Yes. PayTime stores your data securely in the cloud with protected access, so sensitive salary and tax information is kept safe and available only to authorised users.
Who can see our payroll information?
Only the users you authorise in your account can access your payroll data. PayTime keeps each company's information private and separate.
Is it safe to store payroll data on the cloud?
Yes. Cloud storage with proper access controls is more secure and reliable than files on a single office computer, and it protects you against local loss or hardware failure.
Can I control what my staff can access?
PayTime lets you give the right people access to payroll while keeping sensitive functions restricted, so responsibilities are separated appropriately.
What happens to my data if my computer fails?
Nothing is lost. Because your payroll lives in the cloud, a broken laptop or office device has no effect — you simply log in from another device.
Is my data backed up?
Yes. Your payroll data is maintained centrally in the cloud, removing the need for you to manually back up spreadsheets or worry about lost files.
Can I access PayTime from anywhere?
Yes. You can securely log in to PayTime from any location with an internet connection, which is ideal for owners and accountants who are often on the move.
Does PayTime keep an audit trail?
Yes. Payroll runs and records are stored with their supporting detail, giving you a clear history for internal control and external audits.

What happens if my headcount grows?
PayTime scales with you. As your team grows you simply run more employees and top up credits, with better per-credit rates on larger bundles.
